Jason Chavez McMahon (b. 1981) is an American musician living in Brooklyn, NY whose work combines elements of jazz, folk, and rock.

Inspired as a child by late 20th century popular culture, Jason began playing guitar as an adolescent in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 2004 with a degree in Jazz performance, Jason moved to Brooklyn, where he contributed his creative energy primarily to the Shinkoyo record label/art collective, helping found The Silent Barn, a multi-media performance venue and recording studio in Ridgewood, Queens. As a member of Skeletons (Skeletons and the Kings of All Cities, Skeletons and the Girl-Faced Boys) Jason helped write & record seven albums and toured both the US and Europe extensively for nearly a decade. Their music, a mix of indie rock, free jazz, experimental theatre and noise rock, continues to exist online.

Beginning in 2010, Jason spent several years as a touring musician in such bands as Glasser, Chairlift, and Janka Nabay and The Bubu Gang. This experience took Jason around the world, playing hundreds of shows in dozens of cities across five continents and twenty countries.

In 2017 Jason began work on an album of original material. Odd West is his first thorough investigation into his own creative voice. Recorded at Strange Weather recording studio in Brooklyn, NY and released in January 2020, Odd West is available now on all streaming platforms.
